This course is designed to meet the Dental Board of California requirements for an approved Orthodontic Assistant course and it prepares students to be eligible to take the state board exam for the Orthodontic Assistant Permit. This course provides specialized knowledge and skills to perform chairside dental assisting in an orthodontic practice. The course includes didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction on dental sciences, materials, and infection control as they pertain to chairside assisting orthodontic techniques. 24.00 hours lecture and 60.00 hours laboratory.
