    Description: An introduction to infection control in the dental office that is designed to meet the Dental Board of California requirement for an approved 8 hours Infection Control Course. Students are introduced to all aspects of basic dental sciences and microbiology as they relate to infection control, principles of modes of disease transmission, and prevention, principles, techniques, and protocols of hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, surface barriers, and disinfectant, sterilization, sanitation, and hazardous chemicals associated with infection control, and protocols for regulated, and nonregulated waste management. 6.00 hours lecture and 4.00 hours laboratory. (Pass/No Pass only)
