    Description
    Description: This course is designed to meet the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Dental Assistant Program. The course is an overview of embryologic development of structures of the head and neck, teeth, and oral cavity; histology of the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity; the developmental and structural defects involving the oral cavity and teeth; introduction to diseases of the oral cavity including periodontal disease and caries; and general pathology found in the head and neck region. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade only)
