    Description: This course is designed to meet the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Dental Assistant Program. The course introduces the student to Center of Disease Control (CDC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) infection control standards and protocols, general safety protocols, general description of microorganisms, concepts of disease spread and its prevention, and how to manage hazardous chemicals used in dentistry. 36.00 hours lecture and 10.00 hours laboratory. (TBA Option) (Letter grade only)
