Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is a historical survey of the United States from the end of the Civil War to the present. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Surveys major political, economic and cultural themes and transformations in the United States since 1865 including Reconstruction, immigration, western expansion, political reform movements, industrialization, Civil Rights and Women's Rights, and the growth of the United States as a world power. Examines the experiences and contributions of diverse racial, ethnic, gender and socioeconomic groups within the context of the social, political, and economic history of the United States since 1865.
