    Description
    This course is a historical survey of the United States, from Indigenous North America to the end of Reconstruction. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Explores the colonial foundation of American cultural heritage; growth of the US political party system; women and social reform; the institution of and movement to abolish slavery; the Civil War, including its causes and Reconstruction.
