Analyzes historical and contemporary issues of sovereignty, settler-colonialism, identity, agency, and the unique status of Native people within American society today. Uses key concepts of American Indian epistemology to analyze history, religion, language, literature, and art of the First Nations. Actively engage with American Indians in Ventura County to expose students to anti-racist and anti-colonial issues.
