    Description
This course provides foundational training in court interpreting for English-Spanish speakers. Students will learn the principles, techniques, and ethical standards required for legal interpreting in court and related settings. Emphasis is placed on consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, sight translation, legal terminology, and courtroom protocols. The course prepares students for professional opportunities as certified court interpreters in California and other jurisdictions. Students should be heritage speakers of Spanish or other linguistically qualified students; fluency in both Spanish and English are strongly recommended. This course is taught in Spanish.
