Recent SemestersFall 2026, Summer 2026, Spring 2026, Fall 2025, Summer 2025Class Size1–10 studentsCredits18PrerequisitePOST Basic Certificate or equivalent; Participation in advanced officer training courses requires a prerequisite of completion of the following: Commission on Police Officer Standards Training (POST) certified basic law enforcement academy diploma or equivalent as determined by the Dean of Academy Instruction. Approval of equivalent training is not a guarantee; state regulatory or licensing agencies will also grant equivalency. Prior to enrolling in these courses students must already be familiar with and be able to demonstrate all of the skills taught in a basic law enforcement academy. These will not be taught in the course; rather, they will be the starting point for advanced officer training that builds upon them.
