Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is a historical survey of the United States from the end of the Civil War to the present. The course also introduces students to historical reasoning skills. Using an empathetical approach with diverse viewpoints, the class explores ethnic, racial, political, religious, gender, artistic, international, geographical, economic, social, and cultural influences on the United States' rise to global power after the Civil War. Analysis of both "ordinary" and "extraordinary" individuals and groups surrounding their contributions to the creation of modern America.
