- This course provides fundamental information regarding the history and philosophy of fire prevention. Topics include organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau, use of fire codes, identification and correction of fire hazards and the relationship of fire prevention to fire safety education, detection and suppression. Portions of instruction may be offered online; may also be offered fully online.
