    Description
    A survey of the cultures of Native American/American Indians within the United States, focusing on the social, religious, economic, linguistic, and artistic history of various indigenous groups. It examines current political, social, and environmental challenges and representations via indigenous viewpoints and knowledge. It also discusses anti-racist, anti-colonial, and Native American resistance and resurgence movements. Topics can include, but are not limited to, tribal citizenship, self-determination, decolonization, sovereignty, and settler colonialism. Emphasis on the local indigenous communities' geography, culture, history, and environment. Portions of instruction may be offered online; may also be offered fully online.
