- This course is designed to enhance the skills of respiratory care practitioners in the assessment and management of critically ill adult patients. Students will enhance proficiency in the use of therapist driven protocols in critical care and develop aptitude in ethical and legal issues related to trauma, withdrawal of life-support, comfort and palliative care, and end of life decisions.
