    Description
What should I do with my life? What kind of person should I be? What makes actions right or wrong, good or bad? Is there any reason to be moral? Is morality subjective? How, if at all, can such questions be answered? These basic questions and themes will be examined through the study of historical and contemporary philosophical texts from key philosophical standpoints in ethics, emphasizing virtue ethics, utilitarianism, and deontology. These major as well as minor theories will be evaluated and applied in the critical context of personal as well as contemporary moral issues.
