    This course explores and evaluates the health and wellness benefits of swimming for fitness through basic stroke techniques, water adjustment skills, and long-range periodized training. A physiological, psychological, and sociological approach to lifelong fitness emphasizes goals, self-exploration, self-awareness, critical thinking, self-regulation, agency, and social connectivity. Designed to build and/or improve cardiorespiratory endurance and overall lifelong fitness levels through an integrated fitness swimming program that consists of cardiovascular activity progression, goal setting, advocacy for self and others, psychological skills training, disease prevention activities, and community engagement.
