    Description
    Introduction to origins and global distribution of cultures. Examines cultural patterns of human organization as exemplified in population, agriculture, language, religion, ethnic identity, political organization, folk and popular culture, urbanization and economic development. Global patterns of cultural traits are analyzed to explain current issues in the United States; ethnic clusters, political participation, colonial and corporate powers causing acculturation, globalization, and marginalization, access to economic opportunity, and degrees of assimilation and loss of cultural identities.
