    Description
Is there a mathematical basis to thinking? Can grammar and an individual’s everyday way of speaking be expressed more clearly with symbols? Is there a way to objectively prove that one’s own reasoning is perfect? Such questions can be answered with the basics of logical reasoning, including the deconstruction and evaluation of arguments, the structure of logic, and how to assess conclusions using various reasoning methodologies. Topics will include categorical syllogistic logic, propositional logic, and predicate logic which ultimately enable students to assess the strength of arguments in daily life and academic settings. CSCI 203 is cross-listed with PHILO 103.
