    Description
    Open to both accounting and non-accounting majors. This class covers the federal and California personal income tax laws. Study includes a practical user approach to the most important areas of the tax law including how to calculate individual income tax, maximize deductions and credits, and tax planning strategies. Emphasis placed on compliance, basic preparation and learning how to research tax questions and interpret tax laws and regulations as they relate to the individual taxpayer. This course has been approved as a Qualifying Education course by the California Tax Education Council (CTEC). Successful completion of this course provides the minimum qualifications needed to apply to the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, to be registered as a tax return preparer.
