    Covers all areas for frontline leadership and training roles in transportation. (Frontline employees with staff reporting to them or responsible to direct staff). Students acquire fundamental knowledge of public service strategies, <span style="font-size:12px">handling interactions with members of the community and introduce to</span><span style="font-size:8.5pt"><span style="font-size:12px"> the principles of effective interpersonal communication with public transit professions</span>.<span style="font-size:12px"> </span></span><span style="font-size:12px">Topics include verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, developing problem solving strategies an overview of the relationship between labor and management. </span>Per California Code of Regulations, this course is limited to students admitted to the Public Transit Leadership apprenticeship program at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.<br /> <br />
