Further, students will examine gender from feminist perspectives. This course will examine how gender is constructed in various institutions such as the family, mass media, education, and the economy. In this course students will be given a basic understanding of the gender and feminism and will be introduced to relevant theories of gender, the intersectionality of gender, race and class, as well as how gender shapes an individual's experience of the world in realms such as communication, sexuality, relationships, work, health and violence.
