    This course focuses on the nursing process as it relates to the child-bearing family. The nurse's roles of provider, manager of care, and member of the profession are explored in meeting the needs of prenatal patients, those in labor and delivery, as well as postpartum. This course focuses on assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of care that respects the individual's cultural and ethnic child-bearing beliefs that have an impact on the hospitalized birthing client, infant and family.
