    Description
    In this course students will learn laws, standards, and ethics related to pharmacy practice and pharmacy technicians. Through discussions and case studies, students will learn the complex system of interrelated laws, regulations, standards, codes, and ethical guidelines which help to ensure that drug therapies and merchandising are carried out safely and in the public interest. Included will be discussions on the California Board of Pharmacy, the FDA, DEA, controlled substances, and licensing and regulation of pharmacy personnel and operations. In addition, Pharmacy Communications and Customer service is devoted to teaching future pharmacy technicians the skills they will need to effectively communicate. Students will examine a variety of skills that can assist in developing expertise in quality patient care. (noncredit course - not degree applicable)
