    Description
    This course is designed to educate the vocational nursing student about their role in providing care as a member of the healthcare team in meeting the needs of patients during pregnancy, in labor and delivery, and during the postpartum periods. This course focuses on the beginning level concepts of the nursing process as it relates to the child-bearing family, including the care of neonates. This course includes a review of the obstetrical care concepts that respects the individual's cultural and ethnic child-bearing beliefs that have an impact on the mother and family. The course includes 3.5 hours of relevant pharmacology content.
