    Description
    This course is a survey of the history of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and related countries and regions in East Asia with emphasis on the political, social, and economic development of these regions and their interaction with the West. Students will explore the origins of the cultural traditions, major religions in the area, the unifying forces of Chinese culture, and Western intrusion into the region.
