Transfers ToUC and CSUCal-GETC Area 4 · IGETC Area 4 · CSU GE Area DDescriptionThis introductory course will take an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach to the examination of the historical, cultural, economic and political issues that impact the following racialized groups within the United States, African American, Asian American, Indigenous/American Indian/Native American, and Chicana/o/x/e and Latina/o/x/e communities. Students taking this course will review core concepts and frameworks from the field of Ethnic Studies, such as racism, white supremacy, settler colonialism, imperialism, self-determination, liberation, decolonization, intersectionality, abolition, anti-racism, and more. They will also learn how racial formations have been historically constructed and resisted. Students will be presented with theoretical frameworks that can be used to combat racism and/or engage equity movements focused on dismantling white supremacy, colonialism, imperialism, and other forms of oppression targeting minoritized communities.Usually HeldMon Wed 12:40pm–2:05pm
