    Description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the Incident Command System (ICS), a standardized, on-scene, all-hazards approach to emergency management. Designed for students pursuing careers in emergency management, public safety, homeland security, or related fields, the course examines the history, structure, principles, and operational components of ICS, as well as its integration within the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Students will analyze real-world incidents and evaluate the effectiveness of command strategies, interagency coordination, resource management, and communication protocols. Emphasis is placed on leadership roles within the ICS framework, scalability in response operations, and legal/ethical considerations during emergency response.
