It develops the student's ability to express opinions and make recommendations in Spanish-language debates and discussions. It addresses listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing while emphasizing the improvement of reading and writing skills. Students also learn about regional variations in standard Spanish, Spanglish and code-switching, and the relationship between language and cultural identity. C-ID SPAN-230.
