Transfers ToCSUDescriptionStudents study classic and contemporary vocal jazz repertoire through vocal jazz ensemble rehearsal and performance. They present concerts and festivals on campus and throughout the community as well as concert tours. Students develop advanced vocal or instrumental skills, sight reading skills with all intervals and advanced syncopated rhythms, and perform at least two solos with jazz phrasing and advanced improvisation, using fully arranged student-prepared lead sheets on music notation software. Students are required to attend professional jazz performances. Fourth level of four semester enrollments.
