Transfers ToCSUDescriptionStudents study classic and contemporary vocal jazz repertoire through vocal jazz ensemble rehearsal and performance. They present concerts and festivals on campus and throughout the community as well as concert tours. Students develop intermediate vocal or instrument skills, sight reading skills with chromatic intervals and advanced rhythms, and perform at least two solos with jazz phrasing and advanced improvisation, using student-prepared lead sheets on music notation software. Students are required to attend professional jazz performances. Third level of four semester enrollments.
