It develops skills to help the patient advocate navigate through the complexities of today's rapidly evolving healthcare system from the patient's perspective. Students discuss the cultural, social, hereditary, and environmental influences on human behavior and personality development, including behaviors associated with death, dying and grieving, cultural beliefs, mental health, values, and practices regarding health and illness.
