    Description
This course traces the history of motion pictures from 1948 to the present through a critical examination of the technical, aesthetic, social, political, and economic factors that have an impact on production, distribution, and exhibition of film. It explores the cinema of the post-WWII era, through major international movements of the 1950s and 1960s, to the development of the new Hollywood of the 1970s, concluding with the globalization and digitalization of film culture in the twenty-first century.
