Effective Fall 2026, SOCI-C1000 replaces SOC-01</b></font><br> This course provides an introduction into what it means to be sociologically mindful and to think sociologically while understanding the difference from other ways of seeing the social world. The course begins with the understanding of the differences between personal troubles and public issues, and how sociologist apply various theoretical perspectives to a wide range of issues, such as: culture; socialization; social structure of society; deviance; issues of feminization; family; gender; race; inequality; economics; politics and population; and the relationship between the individual and society.
