Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis course covers topics in both beginning and intermediate algebra. The beginning algebra topics include order of operations, graphing linear equations, solving equations and inequalities that are linear in form, operations on polynomials, and a brief introduction to functions. The intermediate algebra topics include factoring, graphing linear and non-linear functions, including piecewise defined graphs, problem solving with nonlinear equations, working with complex numbers, and graphing conic sections. This course is designed to prepare students for mathematics course work in trigonometry and precalculus.
