    Description
    <b><font color="7A0018"> Ends Summer 2026. Effective Fall 2026, ASTR-C1001 replaces ASTR-01. </b></font><br> This is a basic course studying the principles of astronomy beginning with the solar system and continuing through the Milky Way Galaxy and the galaxies beyond. Throughout the course topics relating to the philosophy of science, history of astronomy, tools of the astronomer, and supporting topics of physics are introduced. The course is designed for students satisfying breadth requirements in science and having a general interest in astronomy.
