    Description
    <b><font color="7A0018">Begins Fall 2025</b></font><br> This course is an introduction to the history, theory, concepts, and methods of the anthropological discipline of archaeology. How do we know anything about the ancient human past? This course answers that question, addressing survey methods, excavation, stratigraphy, dating techniques, artifact analysis, professional ethics, and the role of scientific inquiry in understanding the past, illustrated with examples from ancient cultures around the world.
