- This course provides the conceptual basis of nursing care for acutely ill, non-critical care adult, and geriatric patients in an acute medical-surgical setting. The student utilizes the nursing process to recognize alterations in functioning or illness and formulate age-appropriate nursing interventions. Concurrent practice in the skills lab and clinical experience in community facilities is required.
