    Description
    This course is an introduction to psychology, which is thestudyofthemindandbehavior.Studentsfocusontheoriesand concepts of biological, cognitive, developmental, environmental, social, and cultural influences; their applications; and their research foundations. This is an honors course. Topics include history, methodology, biopsychology, life-span development, sensation and perception, consciousness and altered states, learning and memory, thought and language, intelligence, motivation and emotion, personality, psychopathology and therapy, stress and health, social and cultural influences. The Honors section of this course places a greater emphasis on understanding the human being as an integrated physiological, social, and psychological organism and further enriches that perspective with data and theories from related disciplines.
