    This course provides students with an introduction to the basic concepts of organic and biochemistry. The structures, behaviors, and functions of small organic molecules and biomolecules are evaluated; common classes of organic compounds,organizedaccordingtofunctionalgroup,areexplored first, followed by properties of important biological compounds suchascarbohydrates,lipids,andproteins.Thiscourseisrelevant for some students seeking careers in health related professions.
