    Skills in recognizing co-occurring disorders, referral and case management of clients, and appropriate scope of practice are emphasized. Common types of mental health issues associated with addiction, including mood, anxiety, and adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and unresolved issues of childhood abuse are covered as well as an overview of appropriate treatment and management approaches.
