A series of substantial writing assignments (a minimum of 6,000 words total) focus on increasing the sophistication of students' argumentative writing skills. Theoretical models of critical thinking and composition will be applied to academic fields and textbooks, electronic and print media, advertisements, ethics, politics, and multi-cultural issues.
