    Description
    Math-155 is an in-depth study of functions and their usefulness in mathematical modeling. Functions are approached numerically, graphically, symbolically, and verbally. Families of functions studied include: linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, power, polynomial, and rational. Additional function topics: rate of change, concavity, domain/range, function transformation/combination, inverse functions, and asymptotic behavior of functions. Algebraic skills are further developed. This course is primarily intended to prepare students for calculus but may also serve as an advanced course for students not intending to continue with calculus.
