    Description
This survey of mass communication examines the origins, development, role and impact of the mass media in society — books, newspapers, magazines, radio, television, film, recordings, video games, social media — as well as the internet's connection to convergence and globalization. It analyzes media messages within the cultural landscape: entertainment, journalism, advertising, public relations and social media. It also explores current and future trends and issues in mass communication and media literacy, and laws and ethics involved with the mass media and related industries.
