    Description
    This course surveys the major social, political, cultural, and economic trends in African history from 1800 to the present. Major themes of the course will include: the European colonization of Africa and African resistance to colonization; colonial administrative and economic policies; the development of African nationalism; and the economic, social, and political realities and challenges of post-colonial Africa.
