    Description
    This course surveys the social construction of sexualities in North America from the colonial period through the present. The course will focus on understanding how the expression and regulation of sexuality both structured cross-cultural contact in North America and contributed to social order and control. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding how the regulation of sexuality both contested and reinforced other hierarchies of power such as race, class, and gender.
