It analyzes historical events from the perspective of the people in power as well as those on the periphery. Analysis of revolutions, wars, and social movements will be a point of emphasis. Topics will include, but are not limited to: French, Russian, Scientific, and Industrial Revolution; the Protestant Reformation and the Wars of Religion; French absolutism, English constitutionalism, war trade and empire; nationalism, imperial rivalry, and the world wars; the fall of communism and modern Europe.
