- This course covers fundamentals of building construction as it relates to firefighter and life safety. Classification of occupancy and types of construction with an emphasis on fire protection features including building equipment, facilities, and fire resistant materials as key factors when inspecting buildings, preplanning fire operations, and operating at emergencies.
