    Description
    This course offers students the opportunity to read, discuss, and write about children's and adolescent literature from a variety of historical periods, and covers the three main genres: short stories (including, myths, legends, fairy tales and folk tales), poetry and the novel. It includes works from the oral tradition to the present, and focuses on analyzing the works themselves and understanding their social and cultural contexts. This course also explores current issues and controversies in the field of children's literature.
