    Description
This is a lecture and lab course that investigates the relationships between microscopic structures and the macroscopic properties of engineering materials--including metals, ceramics, glasses, polymers, and composites. Mechanical, thermal, electrical, magnetic, and optical properties are also examined. Processes for producing and strengthening various materials are introduced. Certain failure mechanisms are also studied. An optional materials fee may be applied. Offered in the Fall semester.
    Usually Held
