Topics studied include the following: colonial policies, land and resource use, industrial and economic growth, role of immigration and ethnic/cultural groups, the transport revolution, the development of money, banking and trade patterns, as well as the role of the government. This course applies the economic context in which the American society, culture and political institutions evolved during the agricultural and extractive era, the industrial era and the current era.
