    Course Description: This course provides an introduction to the laws, standards, policies, procedures, and curriculum, and best practices related to child health safety and nutrition in educational settings birth through middle childhood. This course covers the teacher's role to ensure physical health, mental health, and safety for both children and staff are incorporated into the classroom, along with the importance of collaboration with families and health professionals. There is a focus on nutrition and meal planning, overall risk management and integrating the concepts into everyday planning, practices, and daily routines in programs for young children.
